About the Role
Tutorat Sarnia is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Tutor to provide personalized academic support to students.
Support may include Canadian history, world history, historical events, historical analysis, primary sources, research, essay writing, assignments, projects, and examination preparation.
Tutors are responsible for providing personalized academic support based on each student's needs and academic level. In addition to delivering tutoring sessions, tutors will be expected to prepare appropriate learning materials to support student progress.
Responsibilities may include:
Preparing exercises and practice activities adapted to the student's academic level and learning needs.
Preparing presentations, visual materials, or other educational resources to help explain concepts clearly.
Providing additional practice activities to reinforce concepts covered during tutoring sessions.
Reviewing student work and providing constructive feedback.
Adapting teaching methods and learning materials based on the student's progress.
Supporting students with homework, assignments, projects, tests, and examination preparation.
Helping students develop stronger academic skills, confidence, and independence.
Salary : $18,00 per hour
Requirements
Currently enrolled in or have completed post-secondary studies in History, Education, Political Science, Historical Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
A degree, diploma, advanced diploma, or significant progress toward a post-secondary qualification is preferred.
Strong reading, writing, research, and analytical skills.
Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or educational experience is strongly preferred.
Experience working with elementary and/or secondary students is an asset.
Ability to explain historical concepts and perspectives clearly.
Patient, reliable, and professional.
